Windshield Tint
Per Colorado Revised Statutes, window tinting is not allowed on the windshield, except for a non-refelctive strip along the top 4 inches.
TRD offers several VLT (visible light transmission) options in both ceramic and dyed films. Our 70% and 55% VLT films are very light and nearly undetectable, but TRD does not suggest, advertise, or condone breaking the law. Any customer requesting windshield tint assumes full responsibility in the event of a citation, failed inspection, or reduced visibility contributing to an accident.
Front Window Tint
Per Colorado Revised Statutes, the driver and front passenger windows must allow at least 27% of light to pass through (i.e. no darker than 28% tint).
TRD offers legal film options at or above this VLT in both ceramic and dyed materials. As always, customers who choose to install tint outside of legal limits assume full responssibility for any consequences.
Rear Window Tint
Per Colorado Revised Statutes, the driver’s side and passenger’s side rear windows MUST ALLOW at least 27% of light to pass through (i.e. they must have a maximum of 28% tint), unless the vehicle has side mirrors on both sides.

Back Window Tint
Per Colorado Revised Statutes, the rear window can be completed tinted with no specific limit on the percentage of light transmission. However, vehicles must be equipped with side mirrors if the rear window is tinted excessively (i.e. if the rear window is tinted past 27%, the vehicle must have mirrors on both sides).

Reflective Tint
Per Colorado Revised Statutes, reflective tints, which have a mirror-like finish, are NOT ALLOWED to be used on the front side, rear sides, windshield, or rear window.
TRD does not offer reflective films for vehicle windows. Customers requesting speciality films that may resemble reflective finishes must understand this is not legally permitted in Colorado. As with all installations, the vehicle owner accepts full responsiblity for any citations or consequences.
